Today I wanted to show you a card I recently made for a dear friend of my mom. Her father recently passed away and then her friend passed away, plus she just came home from the hospital with a very severe illness!!! So, I wanted something special to let her know I was thinking of her.
 I made her a trifold pocket card, I sure hope she likes it! ;)

Hope you had a Blessed weekend!! For today's card, I used the sketch over at Operation Write Home!

I did use a longer strip as well as added a layer and different shape other than the oval. This is a really simple card, which I do love simple....but feel I need to 'work' on my simple, LOL!! I love seeing other peeps cards on simple, but I never like mine!!! Oh, well.....we are our own worse critics huh?

Today's cards are for the challenge over at Operation Write Home, for a 'missing you' card. One is for the troops and one I made for my Grandma. She has been in and out of the hospital lately and had a stroke a couple of months ago. Please keep her and my brother in your prayers...thanks so much!

I hope you enjoyed the blog hop this weekend for Operation Write Home!! The winner of my blog candy is Veronica! Congrats girl....I know you will love that stamp set (my cards today are both made using the stamp set you won!!)!!!;)
I love making cards....especially when they are for our troops who put their lives on the line for us!!! I'll be making cards with a full heart for the troops a little more these days!!! My nephew will be leaving for boot camp next month....he's just a baby at 18 and recently graduated HS.....I'm happy for him....but as an aunt I can't help but be a bit worried.....especially since he will be training to learn how to de bomb a bomb!!! Sounds crazy...but I guess that's how you say it???

Speaking of graduation....my oldest son will be graduating for HS this weekend as well......so I will be traveling to Big T....that's TEXAS for those of you who don't speak Texan, LOL!!! I can't wait....seems like just yesterday he was just a babe and I was a nervous first time mom.....my how time flies, huh?
He will be moving back home in another month or so.....so this will be just a short trip and I'll be traveling without the rest of the fam....boo-hoo!!! But at least I can visit my grandma and see some friends and family that I haven't seen in 4 years or more!!

OK, so I will post two cards for you today....one is the graduation card I made for my son....and the other I forgot to share last week when it was my anniversary!!! I hope you enjoy them.....I don't have time to post the recipe since I need to go pack....but mostly Stampin' Up! and the rest is a hodge podge of stuff from my stash!!! ;) Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!! ;)
