Hey there Bleeps!!!
I hope your week has been blessed so far!!! I know mine has!!! I am praising God for what is going on in our family!!! Thank you for all who have been praying for us....my son is starting to grow in his faith and growing closer to God! For a young man who has Aspergers and ADD.....he's always struggled.....but I see God working on him and through him.....our God is AMAZING when we allow HIM to do the work and not force it and try to fix it ourselves, LOL!!! I've been humbling learning this over these last couple of weeks!!! ;)

Anywhoo.....here is my card for the sketch challenge over at OWH this week!!! I pretty much stuck to the sketch.....just adding the ribbon and tag! I hope you like it.....but most of all I hope it will bring a smile to a soldier's child!!! God Bless our troops!!!

Operation Write Home Blog Skip!

Happy Saturday Bleeps! (blog peeps)

Welcome to the Blog Skip for Operation Write Home, click here to start at the beginning. If you have come from Marianne's blog, then you are in the right place! Didn't her card turn out beautiful? She has a great blog!
easel card closed

The fun of this skip it to see how everyone used the same kit in different ways! Everyone got the same package in the mail with all the goodies to play with for this blog skip!! Two stamped images and three patterned papers, how fun!
side view of easel card

I watercolored the images with SU! inks and an aqua painter. I found a video the other day which took the NEW Cupcake Punch from SU! and  used it to make some clouds, I totally think that is the cutest! So I made some for the yellow flowered card. I also added dots to the image with a SU! white gel pen and made it an easel card too! You know I love easel cards, LOL!!!

close up of clouds made with SU! cupcake punch!

The other card I used  the SU! Framed Oval Die and cut it out twice....I used last years DSP and ran the scalloped frame part through my crimping tool, then kinda pleated it around the oval. I then took some ribbon and pleated it around the DSP as well. The sentiment is from last years Sale-a-bration stamp set and the crazy shape was achieved by punching it out twice with the curly label punch! On both cards I punched out different sizes of flowers with the green patterned paper they gave us to use and nested them together.
Well, I hope you have a great time checking out all the lovely inspiration from the skip!

Now, your next stop on the skip will be the very creative Paula. She is also a sweet friend whom I've gotten to know through my SU! stamp club....so go check out her beautiful card and leave her some love!!! Her blog is always full of inspiration to motive you!
Don't forget that OWH will be having a Bunny Blog Hop on March 5th...you can sign up and see all the info by clicking here:

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Hey Bleeps! I hope you've had a better week than I have. I've been battling a bad UTI. And if you've had one before, than you know what I mean when I say, UGH....and double UGH! Good news is went to the ER and got some meds....thank the Lord for modern medicine ;)

Anyways, I've been working on this project for awhile now.....and I was happy to see it fell into the challenge over at Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog. The challenge was to try something different. Well, I made my own box and matching cards. Also, the butterflies used the bleaching technique....which I know isn't very 'bleachy',LOL!!! I used a bleach pen ...thought it would be less messy.....which it was. Maybe it was because I used a aqua painter...even though I didn't water it down.....oh, well....I will practice more with this technique some more;)

Hey,I need some advice, I was thinking of putting these cards and matching box in my Etsy store. Do you think $15 or $20 for the set? I'm never good at pricing my own stuff!!! Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts!
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!!

Not 'Holly Hobby'....but sorta!!!

close up

Isn't this a darling image? Take a wild guess who drew this!!! No,I can't take credit for this cute little 'Holly Hobby' girl....it's the very talented Sherry Hickey from Bits of Cheer!!! If you have never been to her blog....I highly recommend it....not only does she make beautiful cards for Operation Write Home....but she has written and illustrated a children's book as well!!! You can see my book review of her terrific book here. I bought her book from her a few weeks ago,and we got to chatting through email. She's such a sweetheart that I just had to ask her a favor!!! I mentioned how growing up I loved Holly Hobby ; hence the name of my blog!!! I also, love the Little House on the Prairie era as well. So, I asked... since she apparently has a gift of being able to draw(I can't draw a stick figure,LOL!!!)....yep,I thought....what the heck I'll just 'see' if she would be willing to try her hand at drawing a Holly Hobby girl for me!!! Well,of course we couldn't outright coping Holly Hobby because her image is protected through copyright laws and such....but she used Holly Hobby as inspiration!!! Wow!!! I'm so excited at how beautiful and sweet she looks!!! I don't even think I came close at justifying her on a card!!!

side view of easel card

Well,I ended up putting her on a easel card, I do so love easel cards!
I had 'made' Sherry's original drawing into a 'digi stamp'....well,at least I 'think' I did, LOL!! I took the image  (with the help of Photoshop Elements) and made the background transparent. Then saved it as a jpeg....so does that mean it's a digi stamp?....or is there more to the process!?!?! LOL,can you tell that I'm asking for help?!?!?! Any advice from peeps who have taken a actual hand drawn image and created your own digi stamps to share or sell....would be very much appreciated!!! ;) *hint.hint*

Yes,I know....I used stickles and added Iridescent Ice....this card isn't going to the troops....I will make another card for this same challenge for the troops.....I promise ;)

I hope everyone had a awesome 4th!!! I don't know about you but we did!! We took the kids to the movies went to eat Mexican food and shot a little bit of fireworks and the kids did some sparklers!!! We thought it would be too hot to 'go' anywhere to watch them....but it was actually very nice and not too hot outside yesterday!!!The last few years we 'go' somewhere....you have to go early to get a parking spot and good place to watch the fireworks....then you don't get home til' 1a.m. cause' by the time you watch the show pack up and try to make it home.....you get caught up in traffic!!! So,we decided to stay home this year and I'm glad we did!!

Don't get me wrong,I loved being a part of it and everyone had beautiful creations to drool over and blog candy and the stories and stuff was so fun!!! I guess I just don't have a lot of time.....with 5 kids, one dog and a husband who does, right??
Speaking of husband's,mine is the sweetest!! He (along with 5 kids!) helped me move my craft room downstairs on Friday....which is really the reason I have finished the blog list tour yet!!LOL!!! Let me tell you....I have triple the space,I can't even believe that all of this was in that tiny room to begin with!!! Maybe that's why I would  'forget' I had stuff....ALOT of 'STUFF",LOL!!! I'll share pics soon.....nothing special about my room except it's a lot bigger than my old room!!!YAY!!
