OWH Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop and Blog Candy!!!

Welcome to Operation Write Home  Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop!!! If you have come from Stars and Stamps Blog ,then you are in the right spot!!! I'm second on the list,so please start at the beginning here.
Front of Easel Card

Side View
Well, I have been making cards for our troops for about two years now.....but, I recently heard about Operation Write Home and I knew I had to do my part!!! They are a great organization to be involved with. You make handmade cards (that are blank on the inside) to send to the troops so they can use them to send home to their loved ones. Also they encourage you to write a thank you note on a handmade card to give to any solider who is serving in the military!! I am currently adding to my box of cards....so it won't be long before they receive my very first box!!!! I need to get the OWH stamp to make it a little easier on the ladies ;) ....I hope to do that real soon!!! They also take donations,so be sure to check them out and get involved however you are able!!!!

My dad served in the Navy during Vietnam. My step dad did too, he was a Green Beret. My grandpa was in the Navy during WWII and some other family members have served in various wars and at various times; including my little sister, Honey. So, I am proud of all service men and women who put their lives on the line to protect what is most precious to us Americans.....our Freedom!!! I am proud to be an American and I thank God for our liberties and the sacrifices our military takes in order to keep that!! So, however I am able to help, I will do so!!! Anything that might make living apart from their loved ones, a little easier for these brave men and women, I'm all for!!!
Now,if you're ready to have some more fun you need to visit everyone's blog! Your next stop will be Kate. Her blog: Hello From Kate , is adorable and her cards are beautiful! Don't forget to leave some love along the way!! I know I love reading my comments.....it brings a smile to my face and warms my heart!!!

I made a video of me making my card today,I know I'm a dork!! But if you want a good laugh, check it out at the bottom of this post!! ;)
Now, I have a little challenge for you, if you want to play along! Alot of my cards are CASED from other stampers,or inspired in some way. So, if you would like to take Any of my creations and make it your own, feel free to CASE. Just leave a comment and a link so others can come check out your project!! ;)
The theme was to use RED, WHITE, and BLUE ,with MISSING YOU!! I went for a vintage look to my card. I didn't do much stamping, instead I used my Cricut Expression!!! I hope you like it!!! Have an awesome Memorial Day Weekend and enjoy the hop and don't forget to sign up for my Blog Candy!!!

Holley your card is awesome...I figured you had a cricut because you have the neatest cutouts. I have not invested in one of these but your video makes me want to and I enjoyed seeing how to make a easel card...I'm going to try that...also never thought of inking ribbon to get that tea stained look...great idea!

Wow! This is an amazing card and one that will surely lift the spirits of one of our heros. My friend and I are about to do a project for the small group of people in Iraq and Afghanistan who protect our military personnel. Her mom's boyfriend is about to leave for Afghanistan for a year. Never thought of these people who are every bit in harms way protecting our military. Even President Obama had to show his credentials to pass his station. It is amazing the support personnel that are also in harms way. Thanks for blessing my day! :)
